Grass Roots

Grass Roots

NZ$0.00

Discover the ‘Grass Roots’ stories and values behind people who have grown up on a farm.

Suitable for Years 5-9, this classroom kit combines elements from the English and Social Science learning areas. Your students will create an exhibition of stories of growing up on a farm.

VIPs who were raised on a New Zealand dairy farm have written letters to your students. They share some of the values they learned growing up and their most memorable farming moments.

Students will go on and interview people connected to your class, with farming stories of their own to tell. Your students will listen, process, refine and edit the information they uncover and produce an in class exhibition with a twist.

Farmers’ values, memories and locations will be unearthed in this ‘Grass Roots’ kit. Your students will learn all about the impact that growing up on a farm can have on peoples’ lives.
